1. All social & political organizing is based on 1:1 relationships. Every campaign or political project in all of human history has begun with one person asking another to join them.

2. The strength of an organization is equal to the sum of the strength of individual relationships that make up said organization. When your friends say 'yes' when you ask them to help with a chore/task they might not enjoy performing (helping you move apartments, dog-sitting, drive you to the airport etc) — it's because they value your relationship. Organizing in DSA operates the same way.

3. The Structured Organizing Conversation (The 1x1) is a bread & butter organizing tool our members use to support the maintenance of our existing relationships, the formation of new relationships, and increases the chances of successful campaigns by moving people into action.
